Bridge Alert Management
BAM-requirements in EU Maritime Equipment Directive effective from 29 of August 2021:
New requirements are imposed on relevant new MED-installations from 29. Of august 2021 (often referred to as “Wheel marked equipment”).
The most significant change is the requirement to comply with IEC62923 Bridge Alert Management Standard, which is the test standard following the IMO MSC302(87) directive.
The intention from IMO and EU is to ensure all equipment capable of generating an alert on the bridge can be managed from a single workstation (referred to as the Central Alert Management system – CAM), reducing the number of alerts and distractions for the operator.
The SeaQ Integrated Bridge System - CAM is fully compliant with the new regulations, and may be scaled for also minimum installations combining a SeaQ Controller, Interface Unit (IO) and HMI.
