Three stern trawlers delivered to Nergård

Delivered as planned

Senja, Breidtind and Sørkapp were all delivered as planned.

- I would like to thank all colleagues in VARD for the excellent work done on the three new builds to Nergård. Yet again, we have managed to deliver on time and quality. These stern trawlers are complex vessels, and a lot of coordination is required to make all ends meet and there is no doubt - we are in a class of our own in VARD. Well done to everyone. I also want to extend a big thank you to Nergård for the good cooperation on the third state-of-the-art stern trawler developed by VARD, says Yard Director Arnt Inge Gjerde.

VARD 8 02 design

All three vessels are of VARD 8 02 design and are technologically advanced trawlers with high focus on product quality, crew safety and sustainable operations. The vessels minimizes their environmental footprint by maintaining high efficiency in all modes of operation.

Integrated value chain

The stern trawlers are outfitted with VARD Electro’s SeaQ Energy Storage System. This innovative battery system will be charged from permanent magnet el. motors on the trawl winches while shooting mode and also contribute with power in heaving mode on trawl winches. All operating in harmony with the SeaQ Power Management System for seamless integration with the hybrid diesel-electric propulsion system, which in turn minimizes fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. An innovative heat-recovery system increases overall efficiency even further. With its ice-strengthened hull and propulsion system the vessel is compliant with the stringent DNV-GL Silent F notation.

Vard Interiors has delivered a comprehensive interior package for Sørkapp, offering turnkey solutions encompassing furniture, piping in the accommodation areas, provision systems, and HVAC.
